Had a great day yesterday manning the 6880 stand and also had a trip on the line. It was my first visit and wont be my last. Only thing i reckon you dropped the ball on was lack of tea/coffee/cakes etc on the Cheddleton platform area, i think a small fortune was lost in this dept, the first thing everyone asked us was where they could get a drink etc. Just a small thing but a big mark up in profits was lost i feel. Anyway that was the only thing that i picked up on, otherwise a great event enjoyed by us all. Thank you for your hospitality.

Duke of Gloucester's overhaul wasn't quite ready. Hopefully she will be ready for the East Lancashire Railway Steam Gala on February 20th/21st, and will no doubt be able to make West Somerset's gala.

Many thanks to all at the CVR for a brilliant gala. Some superb opening up from 30075, didn't realise how gutsy she was. 5199 & 5542 looked and sounded brilliant paired up, adorned with Cambrian Coast Express headboard and 80072 looked stunning. Another brilliant restoration from the Llangollen lads.

Thanks for the compliments on 80072. Still a few bits to fettle, but the paint job really makes it...

Still plodding my way through my photos Chris! Should hopefully have them sorted some time today. Thanks for your efforts during the charters, and cheers for arranging the snow overnight too! It was well worth being 45 minutes late for work in the evening.

First photo done, the rest to follow at some point once I've had some sleep. Stupid night shifts!
