A notes of caution. What about gauge clearances for 6233?
I understand there are plenty of "Fabric" (gauge clearance) restrictions for 6233 around Kent and no doubt a few prohibits as well.

    Cheers, Neil

I think we might be in with a better idea of what might work next Saturday's Pullman after Thursday 8th when this working from Southall to Carnforth has run. It is pathed for 60mph maximum, suggesting that it may not be Tangmere, but you can never be certain.

75mph registered locos are not necessarily timed as such. You wouldn’t see an engine and POB timed as such either.

I wonder if LSL have been approached to help out with the BP excursions as they have covered for 35028 in the past with 34046.
60007 has had her SD program of trips curtailed by the Strike action so could the A4 be available if 34067 is no longer in the picture?

60007 heads back to Crewe tomorrow as it stands

    That rules 60007 out then.
The BBP site still says that the 10th of December is with a "steam hauled locomotive"

Yes, that grates. I wonder which steam engine will be hauling the locomotive?!

Does anyone know if the 10th December Pullman will be steam?

It is unclear at the moment, and there has been speculation about the possible locos able to run it. Perhaps Tangmere will appear but I wouldn't be surprised to see it succumb to diesel (with perhaps partial refunds to passengers who paid for steam haulage).

Timings look suspiciously like diesel ones to me. No water stops in either direction - unless it takes water at Dover.

From memory, that was the only time 35028 took water the first time they ran this new route.

There's no light engine moves involved either to and from Stewarts Lane, except a pre-planned one from Wembley, so certainly looks like diesel haulage.

Sadly, it was almost certainly set for diesel a while back. I wonder if partial refunds will be given?

Just a double check - are those on here stating diesel haulage for tomorrow’s Pullman getting this from confirmed sources? Wishful thinking on my part, but there are no reports of Tangmere’s return north, and so far as I know it’s only done the one trip in the south for UKR on 26/11. Thanks.

Wouldn't you need to be looking for a path from Southall if you were thinking that Tangmere might turn up?

Yes, and one might yet arrive! I wouldn’t say that the lack of one so far is a definite indicator in itself that the train will be diesel hauled. Hence the question about confirmed sources.
