A snap from the other day. I challenge any other loco owner to have an engine looking like that after running a couple of hundred miles. I know that this look isn't everyone's cup of tea but it certainly turned the heads of the general public at Chester when they then looked across at their local service trains!

Surely if you have the pressure near the mark and the boiler level well up and you have to close the regulator, you don't really want to have to put the blower on too hard then have the valves lifting.

That seems right, but doesn't explain the black smoke.

My footage of the run. Seen at Church Brampton, Church Lawford, Beeston Castle and Promised Land Lane, near Rowton.

A little late, and with not as much variety of angle etc. as I'd like, but here are three shots of Clan Line working her 500 ton train back up to speed at Althorpe, north of Northampton; Church Lawford, between Rugby and Coventry; and Grendon/Durdon, north of Atherstone:

I'm working on a new retrospective programme of Clan Line at work between 2007 and 2015. Much of the material has appeared in previous Steam Age productions, but there are a few new shots and some that have not been available in HD on Blu-ray before. All of it is being re-edited.

image.jpg Many thanks to people who posted the video of Clan Line - lovely quality.

I've just dug out another photo of Clan Line in 1974, taken by my father, at Westbury station - only since then Clan Line has got better - and the mechanical signalling and class 47 on a VB goods train has gone!

image.jpg Bit late, but here is my photo of 'Clan Line' passing Rugeley North junction on her final run.

Thanks for that. I'm still trying to get over a loco looking as tight and immaculate as that now being slowly taken apart.
