It pleased Mr & Mrs V when we got Les Ross (first taste of an 86), BIL #18, AND Mayflower AND a snow blanket over the Cumbrian mountains. A fantastic day...............including the icicles.

No snow this Saturday, but it looks like another superb day according toi the Met Office. I wish it wasn't a 600+ mile round trip from here! Still, I'm sure that travellers and linesiders alike will have a good day and I'll look forward to the pictures and videos when they are posted up.

Looking forward to this trip. First time behind a Merchant Navy on the mainline for me. Group of us from Chester will be joining at Crewe.

Just as well you booked Saturday's. Tickets came today for the 2nd March and it's Leander - not that we mind. We love Jubilees.

Maybe 35018 will be out on the WCR job on the same day? I guess it would be that or the 8F.

What's up with 45699 ? Be quite an achievement to have both Jubes into Carlisle on the same day on separate tours.

Of course, that was the hot spell with diesel power. That's why I didn't recall.

So I'm now told. I'm sure they'll want to get the 8F out for the first time this year.

The 8F is rather more appropriate than the Merchant Navy for a train titled the S&C Thunderer.

Not according to an earlier post above as it states 45690 on the Winter CME on his ticket.
