As per my comment on another thread, a poll to assess the level of interest of searching for features, articles etc in The Railway Magazine since 1897 via the internet.

I've voted Yes, and what would be really good is if it was linked to a site where you could buy back issues / copies of the articles.

The important thing is that you send the printed ones out to me each year...

In terms of an online index, a searchable database might be even more useful...

That's a really good idea, it would be very useful, perhaps the articles could be available to buy and download online?

A cumulative index would be good, so various articles can be sourced.

I believe the NRM hold every issue of the Railway Magazine within their archives.

As someone who never really pays much attention to the index (I just look through the magazines to find something if I need to) then I don't have an opinion, although an online version i can see could have its uses for others

As you enquiring about issues we still have for sale?

We have rougly 3-4 years back issues, although some individual issues, November 05, November 06 and September 07 I know have sold out.

If there are some particular issues you require, email me at chris_milner@ipcmedia.com and I will check what is available, and give you a price in P&P.

Beyond 4 years, your best option is the second hand stalls at heritage lines, such as the Emporium at the Great Central, or maybe specialist booksellers such as Robert Humm.

For reference, we have a full set from 1897 in the London office, so can photocopy specific articles.
