Is there a clause in the agreement that allows for the early termination and would John Bunch ,be agreeable, ? at the very least, I would imagine he might insist that the N be reassembled, you can hardly hand back an engine minus boiler, 31806, could be hired out, I'm sure that the KESR, might be interested in that loco, when 76017 is out of ticket, but then he has 3 engines, all out of ticket, and needing boiler repairs, unless he has agreement with West Coast to do the work, I would think 76017, might be a candidate for the Jackobite, or scarborough runs, if it was air braked, 31874 is slightly more powerful because of its smaller wheels, and again, might be another possibility, as its already had a bottom end overhaul, if any of the three were to join the mainline fleet at Carnforth, my money is on 31874.

KESR is expecting 65 back into service, and 4253 isn't that far away. Add in contracts for Swiftsure and Sapper, and the KESR is unlikely to be a good candidate.....
