D1015 'Western Champion'. Tyseley to Kingswear. Saturday, 26th April.
    http://www.tyseleylocoworks.co.uk/tours/tr_2014_0426.htm
There a just a couple of diesels that can still draw me to the lineside. Western Champion is one of them.
On this occasion, will the Western run solo or will it have a class 47 diesel as insurance? TIA. <BJ>

Well D1015 was considered man enough to collect classmate D1062 from SVR and tow it to Tysley today

May take the 47 for ETH if nothing else, Westerns don't do electric heating, could do with the steam heat boiler reinstating.

Not the best comparison IMHO. The SVR-TS journey time required one hour at 30mph, the railtour on Saturday to Kingswear will require hour after hour of speeds in excess of 90 mph. <BJ>

D1015 has been seen masquerading as D1017 when it returned to Tysley from SVR today. It had delivered D1062 from Tysley

I've just been informed that the tour is now booked as a 52 and 47 double-header.
Please prove me wrong VNTL. <BJ>

Why are the 52/47 not going on to Kingswear? Not a complaint, as it will be good to see the 2-8-0T work up a very slight sweat on a full rake, just wondered

Left Bristol on time is the runround at Kingswear big enough to run round two locos without involving lots of moves may be the reason.

Probably so that the crews can have a decent break.

The Wezzy carries D1017 'Western Warrior' on one side only. The combo entered Bristol 15 mins early in nice sunshine. <BJ>

Sounded fantastic through Torre with the 47 idling and going up the bank at a fair ol' pace! Been chasing the GB today, but almost regret doing so after a very wet and windy afternoon - wish I'd gone after the Western! Video to follow...
