A long time: I took my Locoshed with me - it was a trip to the Cross, after all! For a while, a wife who loved trains too. And now, trains are definitely to the fore.
Nope. I have always looked like, to quote Stephen Fry, "a binbag full of lumpy porridge."

  3. Do you actually have any experience of women? ;) Girls fighting over any teenage train spotter is about as likely as any of us walking to the moon! :D
Ironically I had a long term wife who tolerated an interest in trains when it resurfaced, many years after (a) my having grown out of it and (b) marriage. Now I have a girlfriend who would be happy if I did indeed 'love' trains, although they have never stirred that strong an emotion in me. Interest? Yes. Like? Yes. Love? No.

I think we all have a story or two like that! February 20th 1999 and 55022 worked for Cross Country down to Plymouth from Birmingham New Street on the 0635 Wolves Plymouth then back on the 1145 Plymouth Liverpool. I'd payed £30 for a super saver return from Sandwell and Dudley, head out the window pretty much all the way there and back! Back at BNS waiting for my train home 2 young ladies keep looking at me giggling until the one of them comes up to me saying 'my friend thinks your cute even though you face seems to be covered in oil.Despite my tender years (and hormones) My reply was along the lines of 'I've just been to Plymouth and back, I want a shower, and my tea' Silver tongued Cavalier I am not!

I assume that's what you intended to write... ;)

In my case, my sole attractive aspect to girls was my lending them my O-level maths homework which was always spot on. All they had to do was turn up and bat their eyelids or wear something a little daring and like a fool, I'd always hand it over. :(

I'm sure the Dead Kennedys covered that...

Interesting - you can see some of the bodywork repairs in that.

Here is a test for forum folk. Here are two pictures I took in 2010. What catches your eye first? The curves of the lady in green or the curves of the two ladies just about in red skirts! [IMG][IMG]

If it was a proper shade of green with more shiny bits then I might have had a quandary. ;)

In one word, no! TBH Ross, my biggest regret about that day was instead of going all the way to Plymouth with 55022, I should have bailed off at Bristol Temple Meads and done 37406 down to Weymouth and back. That was my only chance to get it in... Out of a sub class of 31 I need 37404/6/10 and 16! And all are no sadly longer with us!

Do I detect a couple of double entendres in that post?! And there is plenty more fish in the sea.... A shame the same cannot be said for locos.

There were no (intended) double entendres in that post although I did go even further with 55022 once (to Penzance) ;)
