Shame about Kinet hall cancellation, wonder what the reason was.

Torbay trains, you are really well informed, do you work for the company?

Intrigued at the hiring in of 5542 because I believe that 4588 was put up for sale as it was not suitable for peak season trains. Is it simply a case of that's what is available?

That was a reason for sale of 4588 but during peak season we run two sets of 7 coaches. This is more than capable of an engine like 5542. The only issues would be when running the green timetable and having to add extra coaches on some trains. (We've gone up to 13 before - with the 25 attached but normally only add one or two). We can look on our booking system so see if there are any potential really busy days coming up and how many coaches may be required, from that the engines can always be swapped around.

    Small update for everyone:

Trains are now running everyday up until the end of October, passenger loadings so far are good and we hope it will be a good season! 7827 and 4277 are the current service engines available with 75014 slowly becoming one piece again and is expected back into service during the summer. 5542 arrived to the line yesterday from the G&WSR. I will update on here when we expect it to run but it will feature predominantly during the orange timetable (two train running). To clarify we will be getting the S160 in 2017 and will be with us for 10 years.

All of the riverboats on the Dart have now started with the Paddle Steamer Kingswear Castle resuming its duties towards the end of May. The company also have just opened a new cafe in Dartmouth which is well worth a visit if in the area ;)

Hope this keeps you all informed of what's going on currently.

I doubt it will be out over the weekend as its still on a running in/test basis. 7827 has just had a wash out while 4277 has been on the service train during the past week.

7827 today and beautifully turned out. A Manor does look good in lined black with the red nameplates. Complete with a bit of tree we collected near Greenway. Train crew cut the tree up so we could carry on. Impressive driving to restart us up the bank with no bother and no rolling backwards
