I don't know if anyone else is having trouble getting onto the Dartmouth Rail and River website. It doesn't seem to load at all.

The timetable has been completed, it is in the hands of the printers at the moment. It will hopefully get onto the website soon. The basic core is our new 6 train, blue, timetable on our website, with a few extras thrown in, as well as light engine moves etc.

I will get it on here as a pdf shortly.

This is hopefully going to be a great event. Something for everyone.
A black Manor, model shows, photo displays, rides for the kids, real ale, and a massive WW2 display, including a Spitfire, a working Sherman tank and a working anti-aircraft gun!

    What's not to like!
Support this event and we will do bigger and better in the future!

The Weary Ploughman Pub at Churston Station will have a Beer Tent in the Garden for the whole weekend! Bays Brewery will be here in force! We also have a barbecue and a pork roast on hand in case you get peckish!!

Also, if you still don't believe us....7827 is having the lining applied tomorrow!!

Looks good. Change of plans means I will be there now joining my Dad who is displaying a car at Churston.

Does anyone know which way will the Manor be facing? Looking at the timetable my preference would be out of Kingswear so it is smokebox first on the freight and the late pm passenger. This would be best for the light and allow me to travel in the middle of the day...

    Thanks in advance,

So having a quick look at the timetable looks like 5239 (Goods) will pass 7800 (Passenger) at 16.40hrs at Goodrington.
Not sure about the first (Goods) with 7800 in the morning from Kingswear, with 11.00hrs depart Kingswear & Paignton arrive 11.25hrs.
4277 (Passenger) gets to Goodrington from Paignton 11.20 so may be that's a Goodrington pass to, Will be nice to see trains using both platforms there.
I'm sure tuffer5552 might fill us in on that !

7827 will start the weekend facing Smokebox out off Paignton, this is for the Torbay exprss run's. She'll be turned regularly through out the weekend. The grand re-opening is to mark teh 150th Year anniversery off the railway reaching Churston itself. Both platforms will be in use at goodrington sands station.

I've been today and I'd like to say well done to all involved in the repainting. Magnificent job.

Waterside yesterday. Glorious sun walking there, and walking back, and 30 seconds before the train appeared! Oh well. It still looked good though.

Overall I thought the event was pretty good. The 03 brake van rides were a surprise. I thought they would go to the end of the platform, but instead went to Britannia Crossing!

One criticism though would be the timetable. I can see why they did it, to allow the freight and troop train to be run, but 90 minute gap in departures from Paignton at lunchtime was a bit much, especially as the 13.45 was only three coaches! But other than that, I enjoyed it. Nice to be able to wander round the workshops and see the progress on 75014.

Well, that's that for this year! A massive THANK YOU to everybody who attended. This was a big project to organise and hopefully we had something for everyone! A black manor, a Spitfire and a Tank!

The staff of the Dartmouth Steam Railway take great pride in their railway, we really hope that this weekend was a good one for our passengers and visitors!

    Come again soon.

Yes, it was a great event. The staff were very helpful and friendly despite being very busy, as the event seemed well supported. Personally, I was glad of the lunchtime 'break', as it enabled us to take lunch at Kingswear in a leisurely manner without missing any railway interest.

Full marks to those who organised it and I hope that the interest shown by the enthusiast fraternity will have encouraged future such events.

    Hi,

Hopefully the engine this weekend will be either 7827...or 7800! Depends if we have time to change the nameplates!

We also have the Torbay Express in on Sunday!
