This is a long shot, but possibly someone on here may be able to help.

I am building a model of an original Vale of Rheidol loco, getting on quite well but I am stuck for a couple of details. My questions are:

    1. Was the top of the boiler plated over, as it is on the GWR version, or was there an empty space between the boiler and the back of the tanks?

    2. Which side of the cab was the reverse lever, and how was it mounted? My impression is that the driver stood on the right, but the reverse lever was on the left.

I am not aiming for a fine scale model, but it would be nice to get it reasonably correct. Thanks in advance..!
