This collection features English Electric GT3
Looking more like a steam locomotive with its 4-6-0wheel arrangement resembling a BR standard class 5steam locomotive chassis and was fitted with an EM27L gas turbine of 2700hp
all 3 photos are by Tony Gillett taken at Preston Station 20/10/61

yes it was a Gas Turbine, but was still a early 'modern' prototype so it should stay under this heading
yes it was a horrible brown colour, looks far better in B/W in my opinion

Not a diesel or an electric though....maybe you should have started with one of them before GT3 (and the heading excludes electrics as well....)

edit...I see you did start with 10000/1 so I might let you off.....should change the title though really.

E2001 prototype 25 kV ACelectric locomotive. This locomotive was built by Metropolitan-Vickers, initially as a prototype Gas turbine-electric locomotive, numbered 18100. British Rail allocated the number E1000 (and later E2001) to the locomotive following its conversion from gas turbine propulsion.
