The DCE is now scheduled to stop briefly at Wareham for crew-change only [water at Beaulieu Road now] but Tuesday's service was delayed en-route. Does anyone know the reason please?
Tangmere was impressively quick non-stop through Wareham so I guess any crew-change could have been made at the Bournemouth stop.
Brought back many happy [pre-1967] memories of waiting for the Swanage branch train and hearing the Dorset 'twang' (accent) announcement: "Stand well back, there's a fast 'un coming through!" And there was!

Peter - the last report I saw before Tangmere appeared about 6 or 7 minutes down at top of Parkstone Bank was that she was held outside Eastleigh for conflicting movements and was a few minutes late there when she got the road having been about right time earlier in day - sorry no more details I can add Dick.

AFAIK (!) 60019 is NOT continuing to Eastleigh but detached as usual after banking 34067 out of Weymouth.

Appears to have been some last minute changes, and Britannia is now down to take the Poole-Bristol trip on Wednesday rather than 60019.

Got tickets (ticket letter) yesterday for the run on the 30th. States it will be 60019 outward with 34067 on the return. Looking forward to my first run behind 60019 in her 4492 guise. Finally get a chance to see her up close and not speeding past!

The booked arrival in Wareham Station at 13:12 has been 'honoured' with some serious non-stop running during the past two Tuesdays - so the planned crew change stop may or may not happen there this week.

    Evening All,

Having been away, I'm somewhat behind with photo editing and updating my Flickr site. However, I have now added some pictures of Bittern / Dominion of New Zealand at Beaulieu Road last week and anyone interested in seeing them will find them in the 'Stop Press!' collection in the set dated 26th August :

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/train-pix/collections/72157627090322278/

They'll be there for about a month, but they are also in the 'Main Line Steam' collection : http://www.flickr.com/photos/train-pix/collections/72157627155603462/

A bit late, but I hope that they are still of interest.
