This may well be a really stupid question, but is it possible to join this train at Bournemouth and travel on to Weymouth as an honest, fare paying passenger? I've looked at the website but can't find any reference to this. I happen to be working in Bournemouth until about 11 that morning.....

Any news on what might deputise for 34067 if she's unable to return south on the 28th? Maybe 70013?

Looking forward to a run behind Braunton with 5 of us in tow. After watching the various video's of her recent runs (thank you to the various posters on here for the enjoyment), it should be a good'un even though I have a preference for all things copper and brass.

I'm very sure these prices were not an option just a few weeks ago when I looked, as I specifically looked for this option since I have used it to get on at Bournemouth in the past. I didn't try every DCE date though.

No. 34046 is scheduled to run 'solo' on the Dorset Coast Express on the 28th August. Visit www.iconsofsteam.com for more info.

Three pics approaching Chiswick station at 09:16. Was lucky it was four minutes or so down on the 09:12 pass time as just avoided being bowled by the very long 09:14 to Waterloo. Click on the link below and then the right arrows to see the later two pics:

Now here's a question. While I was waiting at Virginia Water this morning for the DCE, it was preceded through, by a few minutes, by a DRS Class 37 behind what looked like a modern auto-coach, with the driver in the front of the coach, heading for Addlestone. I wasn't set up quick enough to get a pic, but did anyone else see it and /or know what it was?

PS 70013 sounded as fantastic as ever - video coming soon.

Thank you for the confirmation posts re the 28th. My e-tickets have just come through with the below description,

We have great pleasure in confirming that we will be steam hauled on our outwards journey and on
our return from Southampton Central to London Waterloo by 34046 'Braunton'. Please note due to
an ongoing boiler problem with 34067 'Tangmere' this week we have been unable to secure two
steam locomotives for this journey and will therefore be diesel hauled from Weymouth to
    Southampton Central on the return

Here is Oliver Cromwell sounding exceedingly fine this morning, at Virginia Water and then at Winchfield. Turn up the volume :)
