Here is the link for the DCE this evening. The link from uksteam is unfortunately for last week's train.
The diesel hauled leg of the tour arrived right time at Southampton Central. 70013 is about to depart and will run via Andover. <BJ>

Indeed, Ollie was sounding fantastic, with a fantastically clean burn. Here clearly working hard with no assistance from the "box" its produced one of the best soundtracks I have had from a Britannia. (the background noise is the M25 - quickly drowned out by ollie)

So what will work it, I wonder? 4464 is up at York, 70013 is on the North Norfolk, 34067 is being repaired at Carnforth. That doesn't leave many alternatives.

A little late I know but here is my effort from Cox's Lock on Wednesday morning of 70013. Its getting a little hard to find locations where the sun is on the front coming out of London in the morning!

Well a box it is then as 54 & 48 are holding the fort in the Fort now as the K1 has failed.

Oh dear..................................................................... what about No9 to the rescue? or (ahem!) failing that - 6233? or the K4?

Surely there must be a loco and support crew out there looking for a trip the coast........................... please......................... anything other than a box!!!!

Riley's don't do much rescuing these days, though the 37 did recently.
    Most likely is a box.

This years been a bit of a bad one so far, considering 2012 was so affected by the Olympics, it seems like 2013 is unlucky 13.

That does indeed seem to be the case, both Oop North and Darn Sarf, for multitude of reasons, delayed returns, avoidable prangs, niggling problems................................. the South is currently three(?) loco's down, 34067,70000 & 71000 as being out of action, thank god Tangers didn't become a crock until Braunton arrived!!!!!!

I wonder what's going on with the Brit, its all gone very quiet on that front.......................................... and I WOULD like to see her at the MHR gala, and the end of October ain't that far away........................

Be nice if 35028 had a looser remit to stand in as and when they could ( thinking of support crew etc..............) to cover for a loco shortage, still at least Bittern should be back in the fold come next weekend.

Well there's no chance of us letting 6233 down that way if you put her after No9 in your most wanted list...:p

If you look at my signature Ralph, you'll see why!............................... ;)

Anyway No.9 is bound to be more gauge friendly than 6233 considering No.19 is already gauged for the route in question :p

45231 is moving Carnforth to Southall on 27-Aug so will probably be on the DCE on the 28th.

Oh boy, I guess that leaves the Fellsman to the K4! 61994 was supposed to be the main fellsman locomotive anyway. 45231 on the Dorset Can't ask for more than the loudest of the Black 5's.

UK steam has revised timings and 45231 working the train. Where would main line steam be without black fives?

The 20 minute Basingstoke (start) to Winchester (pass) timing is going to be a bit tight for a 60mph-restricted loco. Still the Winchester-Southampton allowance is pretty generous.
