A series of posts by a number of people have now been unapproved for discussion. They are all various reactions to an initial few posts by an individual and as a result of a separate 'report' by someone else who has not previously posted on this matter.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to remove quite a few more that are mainly or entirely someone being rude to someone else.

Multiple posts on this thread have been deleted to hopefully leave the ones most relevant to this thread. My apologies if something innocent and inoffensive that you said has been lost in the process.

As a result of these exchanges, and taking previous warnings into account, a member has been suspended from the Forum and will not be able to make further posts.

All we would ask everyone is to use the 'report' button first rather than engaging on-line with people who make problematic posts. Easier said than done, I know, as this is not the best medium for gauging reactions and people are banned from the Forum in sorrow and reluctantly rather than in anger. But rules are rules.

    Thanks

Sorry - you have just failed the test of when to be silent.

    Spot on Steve!

I managed to catch Tangmere at Millbrook on Wednesday morning as I was working round the corner from the station and was really surprised to see it almost back on time when it was due at Southampton Central. Now after finally catching up with this thread after a few days away from the forum I am really surprised to see the comments regarding the 47 helping at Basingstoke considering the delay to the train. Was it really rocket science to understand why the 47 helped with the aim to claw some time back, which it duly did.

Ok, not ideal for the passengers on board but it's modern day mainline steam on one of the busiest routes towards the south coast. No doubt Mayflower would have also had assistance if it was in the same situation and understandably so!
