    13 bogies + 47 must be the equivalent of 16 bogies? I wonder if this is the heaviest load tackled by a Duchess in preservation?
    Looking at the video clips on here she played with it! My own personal 'heaviest load' with a Duchess was 18 bogies behind
    46220 on a Carlisle-Euston express in 1961....and she played with it as well! What a magnificent machine!

    The Duchess has taken that load before, 13 and a 47, and over Shap, in recent years. I don't have a date but no doubt someone can provide that info..

    Thanks for that. Have just watched the video of the 2009 run on youtube again. I should really take more notice!

    Saturday was great fun, using service trains to see as much as of the 3 steam loco's around the Yorkshire area and in York itself. That is until your camera fails and other things go wrong. Still you win some & lose some.

    This is a little tongue in cheek but the middle bit in Sheffield isn't to bad.
