This is looking like being a really good gala. I'm planning to be down on the Sunday (after the CVR on Saturday). The two engines I'm most after are 62005 (which will be a cop) and the Grand Old Lady (49395, a personal favourite) which didn't run back in Jan. Hopefully she'll be OK this time, with the end of ticket looming I'll be taking every chance I can get to ride behind her.

Thanks for putting the timetables with Loco allocations on the website, sooner than some galas I can think of (although I appreciate that it can't be easy too plan it all out). Definitely helps with planning the train / tram journey from Stockport. Looking forward to seeing the freight too. All this and a pint of something dark and frothy in the trackside.... mmmmmmmm

Top marks for making the timetable with roster available on the website, something other railways stubbornly refuse to do, preferring instead to include it in a souvenir brochure.

Has the Super D been repaired yet, I think it needed a new Flu tube fitting?

I am assuming that a Flu tube replacement will require a hydraulic test etc?

    Thanks Mike.

LNWR of Crewe who are the custodians of the loco were working on it yesterday and also today. Queries re hydraulic etc I am no mechanic myself but I am sure they know what they are doing.

Pity about the no-show for 34046, I couldn't make the January bash and missed it, was looking forward to seeing it at this one. Is anything wrong with it, or is there just enough in the wonderful line-up already?

Can any ELR member just post the times of the freight on here? Or what sections has it ran on during previous galas? I'd really like to see some...

Yes freight times would be good. I'd be interested to know what 45407 does as she doesn't appear on the roster very often.

To the best of my knowledge with the acception of 45407 all Locos face north (Rawtenstall) however there were plans to try and turn 45407 when either 62005 or 61994 arrived so not 100% sure.

    Realtime Trains

    62005 on its way

    Realtime Trains

    61994 tomorrow

Not sure if these schedules allow for turning 45407 or make sure that these two arrive that right way?

Not familiar with the Castleton junction arrangements.

45407 faces south and will remain that way (unless someone stumps up to pay the access charge to turn it) - allowances are in the system for 61994 and 62005 to arrive so that they both face north.
62005 has now arrived at BBSt facing north, 61994 to arrive Friday.

PLEASE someone from the railway put the freight times up! I'm sure they have included them on the website at previous galas...

Looking at the timetable produced for the weekend, and going off the gaps in departures i would reckon that freights would/could be leaving Bury for Rammy at approx. 11.05 and 14.45. Just my thoughts/predictions.....

So maybe in reverse to the locals? Bury-Ramsbottom, into the sidings, then Ramsbottom-Rawtenstall etc?

A diesel at the steam gala ? Thats a bit unfortunate.
Pity they couldnt secure 70000, it's heading north for a charter next week pretty soon, though 62005 + 61994 is a pretty good combo to have on offer regardless the drop outs.
