Eastleigh 100 line up of steam trains

does anyone have any idea when 34070, 34028 and 30053 will be coming l/e to eastleigh?

 

All three will be traveling up by rail. Quite a big deal really i guess! Well looking forward to it

 

From what I am lead to believe is that they will be travelling up on the Thursday.....returning on the Tuesday

 

Looks like you can get close to her at the show during the day, then watch her leave for London in the late afternoon/evening.

I'll be videoing the steam tours on Saturday, working on the MHR on Sunday and visiting the show on Monday. Let's hope the weather's kind.

 

35005 Canadian Pacific & 31412 and being made ready at Ropley today for their journey by rail to Eastleigh open weekend. Both locos will be towed with 850 Lord Nelson by a Westcoast class 47 and three coaches on 21st May. The class 47 and three coaches will start their journey from Southall and pick up the three locos from Alton at some point on the 21st May.

 

I hope that someone will be able to inform the us of the timings of these loco arrivals as they will be very interesting to photograph.

 

Read in my Bluebell News that discussions were held for928 Stowe to attend but couldn't because of substantial transport costs.

I take it that the Swanage locos should be arriving later on that evening? (we were told they would be arriving on the thursday)

 

Hi all this info came off wessex rail gen for locos from Swanage to Eastleigh.

Class 47 + 34028 + 34070 + 30053 (support vehicles unknown)

No inbound engine to Swanage so may be loco left behind at Diesel gala.

Regarding the Swanage convoy, "support vehicles unknown" should include a MK1 brake coach and the Queen Mary brake van which will be used for rides behind 30053 (assuming relevant site safety cases etc..)

What about the times on UK steam info web site then. Nobody seems to be bothered about them or the times on UK rail tour web site.

In most cases the operator is happy for the trains on UKSteam to be publicised. This is true even for LE Moves. However if an operator/promoter does not wish for timings to be made public and a rail worker takes them directly from TRUST to a forum, he is doing wrong IMO.

If the owner of UKSteam is told not to publish prior to an event (E.g. 25th April train) he will not publish...

It is an abuse of position, I am sure that their employer forbids it.
Of course its only raving railway enthusiasts in certain jobs who post all these timings so that their mates can take photographs!
