I've been to most of the bigger diesel galas and a few steam galas over the past few years, as well as a fair few normal running days, and I've only seen the sun shine on the ELR once! Sudden hailstorm during the July diesel gala in 08(?) comes to mind!

And no ones mentioned how good of the KWVR it is to get the loco ready to go in such short time?

Yes it has to be said that the guys at KWVR have really assisted us greatly by making the locomotive available at such short notice and we are very grateful to them for doing that. Remember that KWVR could only spare 90733 for the one weekend, so this weekend will be your only chance to sample the WD on the ELR.

Should be a good event and hope to see lots of people there. Line up should now be 47324, 44871, 61994 & 90733 on the main services with 32 Gothenburg at Rawtenstall on short footplate experience courses (£10 each for the Footplate and minimum age of 18 years for participants).

    Regards

    Hi Andy

Are you able to tell the diagrams for the 3 main locos yet please?

    Many thanks for your time.

Well done ELR for getting the times and rosters on the web in advance. Why do other railways find this so difficult? Looks a good event too, just a shame I can't make it.

Yes thanks for that Andy, and a sunny forecast for both days last time I looked!! Is the 08.00 freight the usual 'mini-charter' affair at Burrs or just straight through to Ramsbottom?

there should be plenty of time for at least 5 run pasts before going to Rammy to run round and return for passenger duties

90733 arrived at Bury last night - many thanks to the lads at the KWVR for their swift dealings with making the arrangements to get the locomotive moved to Ingrow and loaded for its short holiday to Bury. All of us at the ELR are grateful for their assistance and I'm really looking forward to a great weekend.

    Regards

Just hoping for some half decent weather - BBC forecast grey cloud both days - but time for a re-think yet!
