A broken down service train at Clitheroe just before the fellsman had to be coupled with the train booked after it - hence it was held at Horrocksford( i think) till both had cleared the block - I was at Whalley station in the rain waiting when the tannoy announced the breakdown. It was then held at Whalley for about 5 mins whilst they cleared the next block.

With 44932 covering the SSE for 46115, I guess this week's Fellsman will be worked by 48151. Will be two days on the trot for her, having been to Blaenau Ffestiniog on Tuesday.

This 8F must have the best, or at least close to the best reliability record of all the curent mainliners?.

I was thinking the same, she certainly gets about.

I must admit I did wonder whether she would be as busy once the 5 was finished, but she seems more used than ever - where would we be without her?

And long may it continue - pity there are more frieght engines on the mainline (although fully understand and accept why there are not).

Be great to see a 9F in flat out action again! Next to no chance unfortunately.

Must have been down to about 5 - 10 mph at Selside this morning. Managed to chase it from Horton Station to Ribblehead.
