Facing south would be a real ball ache for the photters and for anybody on board hoping to hear some decent noise. Though, the climb up past Heap Bridge is a good pull.

Why does it make a difference for people on board, its the same climb which ever way its facing? And there are some lovely south facing shows, admittedly not with the noise though...

Finally go around to sorting out tickets for me and the girlfriend to travel behind her. Here's hoping to a flawless run on the 10th May and good steaming for 60103. I feel that over recent years a lot of attention has gone to 60163 and 60103 somewhat forgotten. It will be interesting to see how the balance of popularity goes.

Be careful, he's paid for his seat and can, within reason, wave if he wants to, shame though if it spoils a photographers shot.

I was thinking more of the ridicule of a blown up shot of said wave being posted all over social media.

This latest round of news stories have been pretty good, nothing has made me wince - even read one from a regional paper the other day that was fine as well.

I'd like to see that comment verified before being quite so condemnatory - without a corroborating source, it looks like an unwarranted slur by someone hiding behind a pseudonym to me.

I don't believe the politician supposedly 'quoted' has said any such thing. Just another internet lie.

Nothing in the news, on her website, her twitter feed...

So looks like a slur to me. Failing to evidence things is something the human race (and particularly politicians of all creeds) are getting rather too good at. I'm rather fed up of it to be honest, particularly where I spend my day job looking at evidence and making judgements based on said evidence.

Sorry to wander slightly off the overhaul topic but I was going back through my older photographs during the Christmas Holiday and found a few of 60103 during her last visit to the SVR in BR Guise.
I need a bit of help as all of my other pictures from the same period are marked up with dates but the 60103 ones are not. I only got a few shots back from Boots at the time as my camera decided to chew up the film and wrecked most of the Scotsman ones much to my annoyance as it was the first time I had seen Scotsman. I have uploaded two low quality scans of my pictures to see if anyone can help with the date.
I recall I attended the SVR on this day on an Aldershot & District Low Line double-decker Bus from Aldershot as the SVR was holding it's annual Bus Rally. I think the year might be 1995 but I am not sure. Thanks in advance for help with this:

I noticed that the Independent article made no mention of the Marchington years. Perhaps edited out for space reasons or perhaps not known about.

In relation to the comments on this site comparing FS with Tornado and their likely activities this year, I think that Tornado will be flogged whilst FS is nursed. There will be no-one expecting a class 7 engine to do a class 8 job.
