    No I do not currently volunteer
    Have DB not also downsized. I thought I read on another forum that a number of drivers had been offered the opportunity to transfer along with some work to GBRF. Not sure if that would have any impact on the steam driver pool, but this move being a weekend means there will be engineering trains needed and I assume DB are still involved in these.

    I only know of two of the DB steam crew. One is my cousin, second one I've only met once. I think your right they have downsized, I'm not familiar with how many they have on their books that do the steam stuff and admittedly the two I know don't get much opportunities to do it due them not having the route knowledge on some of the routes.
