With Fotopic gone I like everyone else had to start again.

Likewise I have migrated to Flickr now, something I probably should have done in the first place.

I hope we will be able to access our photos again one day; my computer went down a while ago and I lost all my photos which were on Fotopic so it would be nice if I can get them back that way at some point! Still doesn't appear to be any news though

I'm slowly working through my stuff and will get smugmug site online soon. Biggest pain for me is re-writing captions! At least thats easier on smugmug LOL.

When everything dissapeared without warning I lost some of my photo mojo - took a while for the enthusiasm to come back to previous levels - getting there !

John, I know what you mean about losing your photo mojo. I had thousands of photos going back to the sixties on Fotopic. Whilst I kept a copy of the captions (phew - what foresight) the task of uploading all the photos again is huge and I just can't face it at the moment. Maybe I'll start to do this in the winter months.

I have still not decided which platform to use for my photos yet. I use Flickr for some recent photos but I'm not that impressed with it. Now that a lot of others have more experience with other photo platforms, it would be good to hear some views on whether your choice has been a good one. Of course an important factor is also the future viability of a chosen platform.

No idea what my username or password was.

I never did set up a new website either.

I got an e-mail yesterday about logging on to download old photos. Username was my email address and they sent an encrypted password with a link to a website to work out what it is without the encryption.

Just goty my invitation to download, complete with encyrpted password. I cannot remember what the password was and the decryption website cannot find the password. Anyone else had this problem?

I got a link a couple of days back and downloaded mine. I was hoping that there would be dates and captions with them but nothing there. I did have all the originals anyway but it would have made it easier to find and upload the originals to my Smugmug account with the info I put on Fotopic.

At least it gives me a guide by year!

Finally the decryptor worked today! Having regained my password it seems to be taking an inordinate length of time to download my pictures......
