Didn't appear to be any charge for just field photography last year though I had paid to ride the trains so made my way from the station.

Website really could do with an update, doesn't even list the guest engine nor one of the residents not able to attend. Any ideas what time the first passenger service is and the first goods from the colliery?

    Many thanks,

Usually ticket price is for entry and a day rover combined, so everyone pays the same.

Entry/Ticket prices this year are: Adults £15, £11 Concessions, £8 Children.

Tickets give unlimited travel, and access to both Caverswall Road, and Foxfield bank/colliery.

If I've read my working timetable right, the first passenger train leaves CRd at 10.00, and first loco off shed (other than for the early morning charter on the Sunday) is booked out at 9.00 to go on a line freight departing CRd 9.10 (this move may be anything from a rake of mineral wagons to just a brakevan - I've no idea from the info I've got in front of me).

I've not been for a few years but can I still park at the colliery?

    Thanks,

There is some parking at the colliery - but it's not a massive amount, so it's a bit 1st come 1st served.

Is there going to be a working timetable available via the web site?

All other questions above seem to have now been answered on the website but I can't find a timetable....?

Timetables will be available on the day, but no plans to put them on the website I'm afraid.

Since the "Knotties" will not be running, I'm unlikely to attend, despite wanting to say "Au Revior" to BillyRuffian.
I may pop in on Sunday, but I had been planning a full weekend.

If the timetables are not being posted could we possibly be told when is the first and last freights at the colliery and when is the last passenger train from the colliery end please back down to caversall?

Some people will have trains to catch afterwards and a timetable would allow them to plan their journeys back afterwards?

    Many Thanks

    Martyn

Last passenger train departs DPk 16.24, due CRd 16.42.

First freight off Foxfield Colliery is 9.50am, first passenger departure off Caverswall Road is 10am.

The railway is sorry that the Knotties are not gong to be in service for this Gala, but with staffing levels and the ongoing dry weather we have had to plan accordingly to mitigate the fire risk and allow for all eventualities. We are continuously monitoring the situation and expect to be able to run the gala in a slightly revised form but still providing plenty of steam powered entertainment as normal.

Slightly worried by this comment. I was planning to attend the Gala but it does involve a 300 mile + round trip for me. Is it going to be totally steam or is there going to be some diesel banking involved?
Also, can you buy tickets for the event at the colliery, or do you have to purchase them at Caverswall Road?

In previous years it has been possible to buy tickets at the Colliery. Usually sold from the refreshments stall in the old paint stores.
