Very very nice! The lighting compliments the shade of red on No. 45699 quite well.

Does anyone know if the return ECS on Monday will have a diesel pilot or will 45669 be solo on the front?

    Thanks

Another video from yesterday, and including a few shots of 45596 Bahamas at the end which was on display outside at Ingrow.

Yes so it seems, yet Open train times has it doing a "run around" at Ely, why would it do that if it has a diesel? Pity, I was going to travel up to film it, but I am not putting 230 miles on the clock with the risk of it being pilot led.

arrived Tender first, run round went face first.
The collection of coaches, tender first running, run round etc gave it a feel of the good old days of railtours (or reminds me of trips in Germany) than the usual diet of 12 Mark 1s, diesel shunter.. very refreshing.

No diesel in site, given the lack of a diesel on the ECS I would suspect there isn't going to be one going back either.. some of the RTT timings were showing as 45mph (presume this is the tender first sections)

Don't take the gen on RTT apart from the actual timings too literally, the NR computer this info initially goes into easily gets confused with unusual workings like steam charters.

Your comment from another thread about Norfolk/Suffolk heritage railways and you dared to go to East Anglia today? Hope you were wearing your hat as a disguise! Nice video though.

    Some very nice footage above.

Brings back lovely memories of my only run behind a Jub. 45562 on the 10.17 Leeds - Carlisle on 19th August 1967.

Yes it was alway doubtful abut the "+diesel" tag, the timings were still for 45mph average and with the "runaround" time built in at Ely. Anyway, too late for me to get there now, and its overcast and misty up that way, so that lovely red paint job wont be glowing like it was in the sun yesterday, it looked absolutely stunning. Well worth getting up at 6 in the morning for.

Just watched your video actually, she looked stunning... Great shots too! I saw her in Hunslet on Saturday in the gloom with the ECS and i'm hoping to catch her later on today if all goes to plan, similar weather to Saturday too today so she's not going to be glowing sadly.

Full dull for "Galatea" today on her return from Kings Lynn.

Crossing the River Aire at GARGRAVE.

A grab shot seconds later as she crossed the LEEDS & LIVERPOOL CANAL (wish I'd waited another second!)

Making a meal of GIGGLESWICK BANK.

A fine series of photographs Stuart, despite the conditions, and good to meet you (without knowing) at Giggleswick! Clag at just the right time.

Two videos of 45699 on Giggleswick Bank, near the station and nearing the summit.
