Morning all, it's looking like this one should be a pretty busy event in terms of train movements so hopefully a decent end of season gala. Highlights are as follows:

    Saturday
    • First move at 0800
    • First passenger trains at 0855 from Leicester North and 0915 from Loughborough Central
    • 32 departures from Loughborough
    • Last departure from Loughborough 2000
    • 5 locos in steam (6990, 48305, 73156, 78019 & 92214).
    • Visiting NER autocar, Iris and class 37 D6700 (with diesel brake tender) also in operation.
    • 3 goods trains running: Mixed, Tanks & Vans. The Tanks even make it to Leicester North twice in the morning!
    • 3 passenger sets including the SUBs along with the two railcars. Griddle Car available on the A set for all day breakfast opportunities!
    • Footplate visits at Quorn with various locos between late morning and mid-afternoon.
    • NER Autocar working along the Mountsorrel Branch (as far as Nunckley Hill for the Heritage Centre - well worth a visit!)
    • Free bus shuttle from Loughborough Midland station to Lovatt House (for GCR). First trip from the Midland station at 0845 and last back from Lovatt House at 1750. Plans are for one bus to be used for the morning runs and another in the afternoon.
    • Tin Shed bar in Quorn yard open 1000 till 1800.
    Sunday
    • First move at 0800
    • First passenger trains at 0900 from Loughborough Central & Leicester North
    • 31 departures from Loughborough
    • Last departure from Loughborough 1555
    • 5 locos in steam (6990, 48305, 73156, 78019 & 92214).
    • Visiting NER autocar, Iris & class 37 D6700 (with diesel brake tender) also in operation.
    • 2 goods trains running: Tanks & Vans
    • 3 passenger sets including the SUBs along with the two railcars. Griddle Car on A set.
    • Footplate visits available at Leicester North at various times during the day.
    • Tin Shed bar at Quorn open from 1000 till 1700.
    • Sunday Lunctime Dining Train (pre-booked passengers only).
Hope that some of you can make it!

The "Quarry Bottom Railway" NG line certainly ran for the last time this year on 5th November as it was mentioned on their FB page. Nothing posted on there for the standard gauge shunding demos on 18/19 Nov either.

I've been told we're hoping for about 10 tanks plus a couple of barrier wagons and brake vans if all goes to plan.

Due to resourcing issues the Mixed goods on Saturday will no longer be able to be used but an Observation Saloon will run in it's place. It will not be able to carry passengers on this occasion.

The workings of the other goods trains are unaffected by this change.

A morning at Quorn. Sorry about the wind noise for the first couple of minutes, but it does settle down.

Thanks for that video NRZ611. Despite the poor weather, there seems to have been a healthy number of visitors.
