North British works in Glasgow. 46115 was also built there.

As was B1 61306 and like 45596 it had never been back until its Scottish tour with Steam Dreams in 2019. As we crossed the border north of Berwick the owner was hanging on the whistle in true John Cameron style:).

Does anyone know why 47802 tagged along for the ride to Aberdeen today?

You’ve not noticed those diamond works plates before John? ;)
In all seriousness I do think it’s its first working in back into Scotland in preservation.
It does seem to be like one of those best nights out though and totally unplanned! :);)

Agreed. It spent a year or eighteen months at Upperby before its final transfer to Stockport. I realise Upperby points southwards and Kingmoor northwards, but I'd have thought it unlikely that it didn't reach Scotland even once at that time. I looked at Six Bells, but it only started being used on specials when it got to Stockport.

It seems to take three hours to do that at Aberdeen even with power on both ends!

From RTT it looks like there were two separate things happening, the diesel and stock movement was to a different location to where the loco and support coach went.

45596 at Carlisle in August 1961 carrying a 12B shed plate, I'm fairly certain she arrived from the north with 1M31 if anybody knows what that was. Suspect a crew change and brewing up for the onward southbound journey. img0408..45596 Carlisle 19-08-61.jpg img0410..45596 Carlisle 19-08-61.jpg img0411..45596 Carlisle 19-08-61.jpg

She's 19m's early at Beattock Summit on her way to Carlisle, possibly the above photographs can be recreated by someone today?

Looking at RTT's it looks like the 47 is going to drop off the back at Carlisle and make its way via the WCML to Preston to I assume go back on the back for the ECS draw back Blackpool to Preston later?

I was thinking of post preservation. My association with the engine goes back to just before it got an oval worksplate

I see that Bahamas is already well on her way back to Carnforth for a well earned rest for her and I imagine some equally well deserved time in a darkened room for the support crew, I wonder where she is off next and when?

The continuing Jubileeathon waiting to leave Carlisle with headboard once again in place (I assume it never got further north than Lockerbie) plus a wreath (for the same chap??) on Leander.

But...it's earned some unexpected money, hopefully.
