the lines all ready played host to a 56xx though, 5637 from esr visited a few years ago

 

Another couple of possible's then 5542 or 1638? The more I think about the latter, the more it sounds feasible. Just had their gala and one of the terrier's just coming back from overhaul. :-k

The reason we dont want to say anything is becuse it hasnt been anocced officaly , and we know what happens when people start saying things on here ...they go pear shape .

Has anyone thought this " its in rileys faviout livery" might be a bit of a piss take and might be the one he doesnt like as in the GWR ....

And yea , it is abit ammussing to be honest

Its gonna be fab whatever it is - And to some posts on here; Its down to the crew at the MHR to get whichever loco it is back without a hitch! And that will happen in fine style with out any issues...

 

Sorry to disappoint, but I VERY much doubt it would be either our Pannier or Yank tank. Our Yank is off to the Spa Valley for their gala, but is coming straight back afterwards. It is correct to say that we have returned Knowle to steam lately, but unfortunately it is larger engines we are short of at the minute. The next engine out after overhaul will be Charwelton, another small engine. The overhaul of "Northiam" has only just started, and the other Yank tank is stored, waiting for shed space.

Regrettably, as much as we love seeing our engines on other lines (it gives us something new to aim a camera at), I can't see it being either of our engines coming over. Now just watch as someone proves me wrong........

 

Does anyone know when this will be confirmed? As the MHR is pretty close by if its a nice loco might be worth popping up for some piccies!

 

All this speculation and guessing has got me hooked on this thread. My own thoughts on the visitor were 5224 but this seems to be unavailable. What's the situation with the 'Polish Prairie' 5521 I wonder? I heard that she was on the way back to the UK but where is she going when she gets back?

Whatever turns up should be staying for a little while as both 850 and 34007 are out of action at the same time for boiler washouts on the 1st of June. And 850 is due to be having a major boiler inspection in June to assess her condition for future operation on the ML. Or has this changed?

 

Polish prairie arrives up north, this week, I believe, but from comments from Bill Parker on the train on it's last run in Poland he said.. it's heading to the NRM, then a little TLC.. that said it is operational so it has to be a maybe and a lorry is a lorry no matter where it goes.

 

Following a visit to the MHR on Sunday am told it is a GWR 2-8-0 TANK!

 

If your source is correct, that leaves us with four alternatives, 4247, 4277, 5224 or 5239.

Hard to think of the P&DSR engines being loaned out, although times are changing down in Torbay.

Both 4247 and 5224 are based a good distance from Hampshire. Seems a long way to drag an engine just for a weekend's work.

Anyway, all should be revealed before too long.

Yes! It is 5224 \/ \/ I will definitely be down to get a few runs in behind this beast. I don't think I've seen her in action before either. She should be good on the MHR grades.
