The results from my visit to the GWSR on Sunday 25th are now available for viewing on my Zenfolio website here: - http://mickrogers.zenfolio.com/p528277290
An excellent day all told, helped in no small measure by a lot of sunshine and absolutely no rain!

Well, that's that for another year now, brilliant weekend. Just had a look through all the photos and videos posted today, enjoyed them all, thanks for sharing, nice to see what was going on elsewhere on the line.

Arrived this morning to see the triple header come through which was fantastic, left just after the last movements at Winchcombe went through returning the freight train, now to sort out three days worth of photos...

Glad everyone enjoyed the gala. I certainly did. I was on ticket inspection dutires at Toddington in the morning (TIme only permits me to volunteer on a very occasional basis, but I still enjoy it when I do) and then had a ride in the afternoon. Not the best sort of weather for photos, but never mind.At least the ran held off.

It makes a pleasant change for a succesful gala to star so many "workhorse" engines. Locos like 1501, 4270 and 3850 would have probably been rather overlooked by many enthusiasts in their GWR/BR careers in favour of more glamorous machines, but they had their share of the limelight over this weekend and performed well. The completion of 4270 so close to the gala was a most impressive feat, and well done to all involved.

35006 looked superb in the car park at Toddington. Hopefully not too long before she finally steams. I admire the perseverance of the owning group - it has taken over 30 years to get this far, but from what I could judge, they are nearly there.

Very nice photographs. I'm a little confused by the weather conditions. Were you at
the gala on Saturday as I thought the day had been described as rather moist ? <BJ>

My footage from the the Saturday and Sunday of the gala, and a very enjoyable one it was too. Thankfully, Saturday's rain only came when I was on the train!

The gala committee would like to thank everybody for there kind comments and for all those who braved the weather on Saturday. We are all very happy with the passenger figures of around 3650 and it makes all the stress and months of work worthwhile. For those who couldn't make last weekend we are running the mhr black five 45379 this weekend (other loco 5542 sat and 7820 sun). Diagrammed for train two this is the maroon stock for three round trips. Your chance to catch it before it leaves for Epping & ongar this week. Now to watch all those you tube vids!!

Pity another 200 couldn't have turned up, then we would have had numbers equal to that black visiting 2-8-0 instead of one of Didcot's panniers!

(only joking, but can't seem to find the smiley symbol or some reason)
