I see an appeal has been launched for £1.5 million to allow essential work to prevent water penetration of Stanway viaduct - https://www.gwrt.org.uk/donate/stan...-iPoOgerj5qYV1vVboBVgZTMIj8dnTs9EGIDOVOECPuhQ

These are once in a generation repairs, if we can bring the viaduct up to standard now, we shouldn't need to worry about it again for a very long time, so please do consider donating.

The civil engineering blog has just been updated:
    https://bridgestobroadway.blogspot.com/2023/03/bridge-32-prescott-road-bridge-repair.html

I'm letting you know, as it only appears on an as required basis.
You probably know that the Heritage Herald blog updates on Wednesday evenings, no need to post that on Nat Pres....

Of course the same people will be on the Stanway viaduct job, and you can see from the Prescott Road bridge that they are doing an excellent job. Please support the appeal therefore, we need you.

Does anyone know if 75014 is due to be running this Sunday please? I've looked at the website but can't find a loco roster.

The loco roster is available here www.gwsr.com/facilities/locomotive-roster although that doesn't help much on this occasion as it hasn't been updated! However, 75014 is indeed currently booked to be out on Sunday, usual caveats etc.

If you are trying to find it from the homepage it’s in the things to see and do section.

    I do know that, yes.
Perhaps I should explain, she was born in Wales, but lives in Bordon, Hampshire.
She is a true Welsh woman, but she also is:
    A] Disabled.
    B] A Carer.
    C] Hasn't got the money.

I wish I did drive so I COULD take her to those things, but, I think because of my anxiety, it's best I don't drive.

Are the GWSR not asking nicely and taking the nameplates off 75014? It ran without them on a recent visit to the WSR.

Does anyone know which locos are out this weekend? The roster says 75014 and 7903 but I know 35006 should be on turn 2, is that a straight swap for 7903?

    Thanks

    Andrew

Roster is now 75014 on train 1, 35006 on train 2. 7903 stood down.

Had a lovely day on the line last Thursday, enjoyed our round trip and my son really enjoyed the arts and crafts which was put on for the kids at Winchcombe - as well as spending quite a while looking at the model railway there! Video and photos from between our travels - focusing mostly on 75014 as we can't make the gala next month but will hopefully be there for the autumn showcase in October...

Apologies for the short notice @flying scotsman123 but it’s my Mums 69th birthday tomorrow and she’s paying a visit…
So I’ll just get my apologies in now, erm Sorry mate.
    Matt :)

I visited GWSR today for a ride behind 4079 Pendennis Castle. The loco has stayed on the railway since the recent steam gala and is working services on selected days for the rest of the month.

According to the Didcot web-site, it is next due to go to Tyseley and then return to Didcot sometime in June.
