    Here
There's also HMS President on the River Thames, formerly HMS Saxifrage, a Q Ship in WW1 (well, built in 1918) - her upperworks don't look that much like a WW1 ship anymore but onboard below decks you can see signs of her original use. Moored in front of her on the Thames is HMS Wellington, a WW2 Wellington class Sloop which apart from the armament removed is, from the exterior, pretty much identical to how she was built, a beautiful ship which I was fortunate enough to go on board completely by chance as they were holding an open evening on her last May - although most of her interior is vastly changed from WW2 days

So we now have a Birkenhead built ship with millions about to be spent on it & a Birkenhead based ship about to be scrapped.
Is 'Plymouth' actually owned by Peel or have they just assumed ownership ? It's a shame that these people appear to need the scrapman's money so desperately.
Surely they could donate the ship to somebody with the proviso that they remove it from the Mersey.

Ownership still seems to be unclear, but that won't stop Peel seemingly.

I probably shouldn't put my views of Peel Holdings on here so won't - I believe their business practices are exactly the sort of profit above everything that the country is now meant to aspire to but I gather they effectively bankrupted the Warship Preservation Trust the ensure they could develop the site and if they then pocket the scrap proceeds of HMS Plymouth, which was sold to preservationists for a token sum I believe, I would call that theft, not "enterprise".
