Now, how good would it be to get our own 672 down there for a spin...

Climbing Wembley Park to Harrow on the Hill (steepest section 1 in 91), downhill to Pinner (1 in 176), 1 in 145 ish up to Northwood, 1 in 176/140/420 down to Watford South Junc, then climbing again at roughly 1 in 105 all the way to Chalfont and Latimer. So more climbing heading west, but still a few bits heading the other way.

I don't have a gradient profile of the Chesham branch but I took a ride on the line on Saturday and it appears that there are two pretty steep climbs. The line drops steeply from Chesham station for a mile or so at what looks like about 1:50 and then immediately climbs back up past Chesham Bois towards Blackwell and then drops less steeply towards the junction at Chalfont & Latimer.

Yes, I see what you mean, though the woman at Kings Cross beats those two hands down!

Any way, I've now managed to put a small gallery together from Saturday, link below! :)

There will, presumably, be an ECS move from Ruislip to Wembley Park both mornings, and back again in the evenings. I guess they won't be sitting at Wembley Park any longer than they have to - perhaps 15 minutes at most? How long does it take to get from the depot? 20 minutes? Does anyone have more definitive timings?

    TIA

The ticket info states just 3 minutes at Wembley Park. We all have to be there by 0930 and lined up at exact spots on the platform ready to board. Will be like the old 510 pm Cannon Street to Ashford from my commuting days!

L150 should be on the north end and Met 1 on the south end. For those chasing it by train please note that between 11.30 and 17.15 Chesham services are diverted to Amersham, with replacement buses running from there to Chesham.

Yes, thanks James. I hadn't realised the morning ECS works through to Neasden depot before reversing.

Yes, that was very bad timing. The good news is, it's only for 10 weeks, so with luck, the next time this happens, it should be available again. Let's just hope they don't enclose it in in a cage...

    Bad timing indeed!

And the nasty rumour doing the rounds, is that the sides are either going to be higher, or god forbid - barb wire!

How much truth there is in either of those, I know not!

Will post pic's when their ready - not happy with at the mo - the light on Saturday was either just plain horrible/in the wrong place or both!
