Out of interest why did this run without a support coach and DL as per when Tornado took 4468 in the opposite direction?

Different TOC, and brake system. DBS moved 4468 as a swinger between an airbraked loco and coach + 47 for brake force. WCRC moved 5972 and 4468 using both locos vac systems so Mallard's tender was filled with water to aid brake force.

I have read some rubbish in the national press about locos/railways in the past but that has to one of the worst write ups. It looks as though one of the editorial floor messengers was given something to do during a slow day while the rest of the staff were watching Murdoch and co.

That story is almost impossible to edit. You'd have to change almost everyword!!

Come on now! You don't expect Britain's press to publish FACTS in their newspapers??

When the BBC still has to report that phone hacking by the NoW is "alleged", it is incredible that lies and incorrect information can be published in this way......................actually now I come to think about it, it isn't really is it?

Well instead of complaining here why not rewrite it correctly and send it either to the editor or to the letters page..... How do they know it's wrong if nobody bothers to tell them.

Thanks Black Hat, lovely photos. That is one of the most graceful loco designs ever, and looks fabulous in that livery.

The pointy blue thing on the back is not too bad, either.

Quick question for anyone with an answer. If you pause the above video on 0:28, you can see that there is water coming out of the live steam injector overflow?
