Will 46115 make this trip now or will it be single Brit?

I think at the moment it's anyones guess, and not something we should be speculating about. No doubt 70013 could handle the train on his/her own but, you have to admit that double heading was an enticing added attraction.

Fingers crossed Ralph. Lets hope 46115 returns on the front of 70013 for this running like we all know she can. We can only wait for the professional engineers at Carnforth to rectify whatever went wrong last saturday.
I for one wish them all the best as most of the people on this forum do.
    Regards,
    John.

If 46115 is not ready in time, would 44871 be available instead? She's limited to 60mph, so might not be suitable for that reason, but a chance to run behind 2 1T57 locos would be rather good. Alternatively, 5690 is being mentioned as a replacement for 46115 on GB3, so perhaps she'd deputise on this tour, too? All speculation, I'm afraid - I have no inside info.

I would not discount Scots Guardsman being sorted in time...

Update from someone close to the action :tape: , work on SG is proceeding at a very favourable rate and it is thought that she might be ready for the 27th....

Thats great news to hear Ralph. Im not on this trip, but fingers crossed that she does make it. What an achievement it would be for WC if they get her fixed in such a short space of time.

Just been looking at the times for the Palentine and 'Bittern' is travelling L/E to York from Manchester. If both this and the 'Help for Hero's' special stick to time they should pass one another near Castleford

Have taken a call this morning that suggests that 46115 will be out on a test run on Tuesday 16th March instead of 48151.

Probably means that there is a test run but the date is wrong.I wish we could get some decent info from West Coast just once.

We used to until recently, before some uncalled for comments elsewhere on the forum annoyed a WCRC manager.
So you might be wishing for a long time yet.

But that is just the point. We are being fed smaller and smaller morsels each time something is offered. We only get what they think the market will bear.It is not satisfactory.
My comment on the date is valid. This was in responce to JS comment about dreaming on which I thought was uncalled for.
