In 2017 Tarka Valley Railway acquired a Ruston Hornsby 6 cylinder diesel electric 192HP. In May this year we fired it up after working on the engine.

Does anybody have any photos or drawings of the engine bay? We could do with some help as we are currently working on the brakes. We think parts are missing or in the wrong place. We appreciate any help, please feel to follow our progress on our facebook page The Torrington Cavalier.

We have one of these locos at the Quainton Road station site of the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre. PM sent with more information.

I think this is a LPSE, rather than the LSSE at Quainton.

Can't be a great deal different, but if it helps Torrington Cavalier with his problem it will have done something.

Having freed the brakes, we now are working on the brake cylinders. Our next few months are going to be slow progress of little achievements. Our biggest achievement will to replace our Broom and Wade compressor, sourcing a suitable compressor has not been easy. Anybody got any suggestions we are also looking for a brake control valve,

Westinghouse Type SA1 LPS-10791 the sa1 could be sai

    Thanks

I've dropped you a PM - I can possibly assist with the brake valve and other parts you might need.
