The heritage railway Train Thur Doller Alsace (TTDA) just outside of Mulhouse, has an attractive collection of operational tank engines, of which the Henschel-built Mallet Nr. 2 from 1911 is probably the most noteworthy. The locomotive is even main line certified to run on the SNCF network, although it hasnt done so in quite some time, instead normally just completing the heritage services on the 13 km long preserved branch line from Cernay to Sentheim. Here a few impressions of the attractive 0-4-4-0 and its other fleetmates.
