I'm told that Bachmann will be announcing their 2010 program at the Model & Hobby Show at Coventry on Sunday 7 March. Is this correct ?

They unveil it to the modelling press and traders first at their Barwell HQ. Not sure whether they will do something else on the same day.

Bachmann announced their range today: SDJR 7F, Johnson 3F 0-6-0, Class 85, Class 350 EMU, Derby Lightweight DMU, Freightliner Class 70, LNER box vans, and a few other goodies.

Hmm the 7f sounds good, have to wait and see if there is anything on show at Ally Pally at the end of this month.

  7. Given that the 7F is highly unlikely to be a one-off "we've already finished it" like City of Truro was, I suspect you'll have to wait a fair bit longer than the end of this month to see any pre-production evidence of the 7F or indeed anything else that was announced yesterday.

Bachmann always states that model lead times from announcement to production are up to 18 months and (as we've seen many times in the past) are frequently longer.

Apparently, Hornby have also announced a few extra locomotives this year. For the Southern fan there's a late-crested 35026 Lamport and Holt Line with 5100 gallon tender (it was previously available with early crest in a catalogue company train pack).

With the Railway Children films 40th anniversary a set of the Old Gentleman's train. The original run was popular and no doubt many of the general public would probably be interested.

To echo others more of the earlier locomotives and carriages

    Regards
    Duncan

Have you seen the recommended retail prices, though? Around £120! And there was me thinking that the 9F (which is an excellent model) was expensive.

Hmm, I would like 30901 to complement Brighton (ie. the former has spoked tender wheels and the latter has discs), but I'm going to order a Beattie Well Tank off Kernow Model Centre tomorrow. Apparently, they've already sold 2/3 of the initial batch, so I want to get in there while they're still £89.99.
