Two updates for you today, the first is a blog crunching the numbers on the very latest daft anti Hs2 petition. Yep, they've been dumb enough to try one of those again! https://paulbigland.blog/2019/03/18/oops-stophs2-did-it-again/

The second is the that I've been scanning the best part of 100 old rail slides from 1996-97. I've added them to several galleries on my Zenfolio website, all you have to do is follow the link to see the galleries they're in. https://paulbigland.zenfolio.com/recent.html

I've updated my picture blog looking back at the lives and times of the Class 313s with pictures of yesterdays scrap move.https://paulbigland.blog/2018/10/15/the-twilight-of-the-class-313s/ It's also possible that 313055 may be moving to Kingsbury on Thursday, but this hasn't been confirmed.

I've also added a huge number of old slide scans from 1995 and 1999, plus modern day pictures from around the network taken in the last week to my Zenfolio site. You can find which galleries they're in by following this link. https://paulbigland.zenfolio.com/recent.html

Over the past 10 days I've added several hundred new rail pictures to my website, taken all around the country. There's a large collection from Scotland but also a look at the dwindling ranks of Class 313s operating Hertford loop services. Follow the link to see which galleries they've been added to. https://paulbigland.zenfolio.com/recent.html

I've added over 120 old rail slides from 2001 to my website. There's a range of companies covered, including the late (unlamented) Connex as well as Gatwick Express, First Great Eastern, Silverlink and others, plus pictures of the building of High Speed 1, ...https://paulbigland.zenfolio.com/recent.html

Over the past few months I've been busy scanning hundreds of old rail slides from around the world from the period 1991 - 2002.
Countries included in the list are:
    Malaysia
    Indonesia
    Denmark
    India
    Nepal
    Australia and New Zealand

There's also many old steam loco pictures from India (both metre-gauge and broad gauge).

    Hi Folks,
I've not posted here for a while but though you might find this of interest as it could certainly have an application on some preserved railways. The battery powered 08e (08308) which was shown off to the media at Barrow Hill last week.

A look at the 08e battery shunting locomotive. | Paul Bigland

I managed to get out and catch the last remaining Class 508 in service on Merseyrail. 508104 was on the New Brighton line today. It's due to be withdrawn at the end of service tomorrow. Shame the set's been attacked by graffiti 'artists' There's pictures of it and some of the 507s here. https://paulbigland.blog/2024/01/15/rol ... terlude-2/
