I don't even know why I'm replying to this stupid thread, but anyway...

I've holidayed on the IOM, enjoyed the steam railway, the Manx Electric, Snaeffel, horse trams. I had a guided tour around Douglas shed, the tram depot and even the barn full of trams up near Laxey (I think it was). Pretty much saw every rail vehicle on the island. And I asked our guide about the steam loco which is privately owned and tucked away in a shed to be told that "it's safe, but he doesn't allow visitors". Well, there you go.

So, get that one back out where I can see it and I might visit the island again. And in the meantime, it seems there's another one I haven't seen, in Manchester, so that will be higher up my list of places to visit.

For a longer term plan, get the Peel line and the Manx Northern rebuilt, you'll need all of your festering/asbestos ridden/running dispute/stuffed and mounted/mostly cut 60 years ago/hidden in private sheds steam engines rebuilt to run the wonderful railway you'll then have, and will be able to gather plenty of support for springing the one out of Manchester. Just don't ask too many Brits to fund this dream, as you've just pi$$ed them all off with your narrow-minded attitude.

    Nice cats, by the way.
