Marvelous video Michael, I am sure that the spirit of Eric Tonks will be overjoyed with the work that you have done to save Nancy. Keep up the good work and I hope to come and witness the big day when Nancy steams again.

    Cheers,

    Alan

The new boiler was collected from Israel Newtons last week, and taken to re-join the rest of the loco at Alan Keefs.

    Hi Micheal

I have been missing in action on this site for a while, but I was just wondering do you happen to have the works drawings for Nancy as it would make a great model for the OOn3 layout we are trying to build.

Hi Micheal no problem, they can wait for now, as I have a lot of things to do, so I know the feeling myself.

I hope this is an appropriate place to post this.

I have seen mentioned elsewhere that the saloon sections of two West Clare railcars exist. Does anyone know of the whereabouts of these?

    There were originally 4 railcars (3386, 3387, 3388, 3389).

Two of the saloon sections survive (3386 and 3389), both at Kilmeaden on the Waterford and Suir Valley Railway - http://www.narrow-gauge.co.uk/gallery/show.php?image_id=4428&cat_id=967 (this is 3386)

An underframe from a third railcar survives on the Cavan and Leitrim Railway at Dromod.

    There were also 3 railcar trailers (46C, 47C, 48C).

These were built in Inchicore in 1952 using Tralee and Dingle carriage underframes (from carriages 1, 6, 8).

One of these survives (47C) on the Cavan and Leitrim Railway at Dromod along with the underframe from 48C

they aren't on the W&S ,unless they've moved there recently. they are in what appears to be a haulage contractors yard,in Kilmacow, along with a C class loco.

Thank you for the information. I had contacted the W&SVR who said that they no longer knew the whereabouts of them. If you don't mind me asking, how did you manage to get into the site to view them?

Oh dear!.... What else to say? Time has done no more for the railway than the people who've let the situation drag on for far too long. At least you didn't find No.5 out in all the undergrowth. Be thankful for small mercies I suppose.

Thanks for the update, even though it all looks as bad as I feared.
