From experience the locos tend to change over at the end of each week, if indeed they switch at all. Therefore if I was planning to bag the K4 I'd arrange a few days up there that straddled either side of a weekend to maximise my chance of catching it! It's not an exact science though - and it should be noted that the loco information David puts on UkSteam is in good faith and shouldn't be criticised if found to be incorrect.

About a mile - mile and a half outside of Glenfinnan. Probably the only sunshine this week, the forecast for Wed/Thur/Fri isn't looking too good.

No train today for some reason - well no train at Glenfinnan at 1pm and the service train that leaves Fort William at around about that time was on the single line not long after.

Loco failure according to the West Coast website. Hopefully nothing too serious?

Interesting - when my train passed Tom Na-Faire this morning it didn't look like either engine was in steam, but in the blur a 156 creates perhaps I was mistaken.

Hope no one was upset by my little 'fishing trip' the other day. Had an itch, needed to scratch it.

I think that's for the evening trains that start running very soon - it should be taking some stock with it. Obviously it provides some cover for 61994.

Thanks Keith, glad you enjoyed the video. A fair amount of planning and studying maps went into it plus some great help from Simon (SteamingYorkshire) with advice about some locations.
