In the space of the last 3 years I’ve been coming so much has changed so fast. Such a shame to lose so many good places.

I'm just glad that I rode the Jacobite (and saw the morning train crossing the Caledonian Canal) when you could still enjoy the Mark 1s...

LMS 5MT No.44871 hauls the PM 'Jacobite' service on the 11th September 2025, passing Craigag on the climb to Glenfinnan.

Holding my hands up, the rainbow disappeared about 20 seconds before the train came into view :Sorry:.

Last week saw the end of the 2025 Jacobite season. I made my usual 500 mile treke to record it in typical Highland weather, sun, cloud, rain and even fog on one morning. Here are some of the results. Locations are: at the Wetlands, Climbing towards Glenfinnan Summit, Arnabol Viaduct (exhaust by arrangement with driver Ian Riley), leaving Fort William coming under the bridge that formerly carried the Lochaber Narrow Gauge Railway, between Beasdale Tunnels 3 & 4, between Lochailort Rockface and the Tunnel, Approaching Glenfinnan Summit and finally sloging up to Glen Douglas Summit with the returning ECS to Carnforth.
