The class 24 I assume, as that is now at Ropley. Although Thomas came back from abroad this week too....
That could be a tad longer than you think...........

As for this weekend, I had planned not to put a shift in........ BUT I've been asked if I can........ though something tells me it wont be worth it........... we shall see!
I haven't raised enough to buy or overhaul 73096 yet

I am a Steam man at heart but I will be paying a visit to the MHR on Sunday to support the Railway. They have a couple of classes of diesel visiting that I have never seen or travelled behind before. Hopefully they will all still be working by Sunday!

surely the agreement that kept the engines on the line would have run out in the next couple of weeks, there is zero chance that she will stay, if she is still a bunch loco, i just wish that someone would put an end to the will she, wont she, where she is going etc, and just say, if as DD states it could be a tad longer, how long ? unless of course she has been sold to JH ;) if so when is she off to Crewe then ?

I understand your desire to find out about 73096`s future, but I think we will just have to be patient. There could be all sorts of things going on behind the scenes including some legal issues that prevent any disclosure at this time. Just merely speculating you understand, but I think we will all find out in due course.
One thing that is blatantly clear is that if no sale is taking place and she remains the property of JB or his associates then she wont likely ever grace MHR metals again. However if JH buys her then there is every chance that she could make occasional visits back to the line in the future, anyway lets just see what transpires.

Incidentally, once the contract has expired, could the MHR charge a storage fee for 73096, just like they wanted to do with 35018, which eventually forced the owner to move the loco on?
It would be a tad ironic that JB charged a hire fee regardless of use and the railway could now start clawing some of that money back!

Popped past at 16.00 no sign of 31806, just 92212 in the cattle dock ready to depart to the NVR.

in theory i guess the railway could charge a storage fee, but you must admit, its very strange isnt it? JB must have found a home for her, either that or its in the process of being sold, and that that will be announced when the deadline to move her has expired , ir he's selling her, he will have to pay the transport costs, if she changes hands the fees come out of someone elses hands, , heres what i hope, that she has indeed been sold , to LSL, and that she remains MHR based and is given a fast track overhaul and back on the mainline if that was the case, could the MHR fit her in the overhaul queue ?

As for the MHR charging a storage fee, yes they could, but we will never know because that's between the two parties concerned - my feeling is, is it worth it for the sake of one loco, that will depart sooner rather than later, to start lining the pockets of some overpaid legal beagles, to draw up the necessary papers? I think not! ;)

So JB gets free storage, and the MHR gets peace & quiet, and nobody has to put their hands in their pockets = everybodies happy! :)

would the delay be anything to do with the stripping of the N& U classes;) i bet that thats where she will end up, once the frames of 31874 go inside Herston works, 73096 will take its place , until its decided where she goes, most likily into Herston works once 31625 is advanced enough ,

Sounds reasonable Dave, no point in making an awkward situation worse, or in paying lawyers fees (had enough of that with FDR!!!)

Got your numbers in the wrong order.. 73069 went to Cashmores.. 73096 needs Morecash.

Given all the legal shenanigins in the past I somehow doubt that anyone would risk leaving 73096 on the MHR without permission, after the expiry of existing agreements. Therefore I'm guessing if it stays for any length of time this arrangement will have been agreed between the railway and the loco owner, whoever that may now be.
