Lovely photo, I nearly got up for the ECS through Gospel Oak but my bed was more comfortable. Lazy I know as its only 4 mins walk.

I could see the cloud to the south so I wondered what the Digswell shot would be like. I know now. Lovely colour in the sky.

Cheers Ian. It was a bit touch and go with that cloud. I could see it moving slowly north, and wondered if it would make or break the shot. Luckily No. 9 had made up a few minutes; if she'd still been 9 minutes down, there was almost no colour left in the sky!

Yes, the timing was crucial. I had considered Digswell but got a nice sunrise shot there last year with the same loco so opted for New Zealand Bridge instead. Such a nice change to get ECML steam in sun.

I do hope you haven't shown
Were the rods up or down?

    ;)

    A wonderful photo, BTW. :)

7 late from RTT, after what looks like may have been a signal stop at Stoke Junction.

Big brother Gricer- "CJ"-Don, is no doubt hunched over his GPS even as I type and earlier told me it was running OK, but limited by the expected slow line path.

Arriving at the decidedly non picturesque Stevenage, where the jobs worth wouldn't allow me on the platform, in the mirk this morning.

Should have gone to Digswell.....that's a superb shot!

You've got my mate Glyn in the shot. I will inform him of his moment of NatPres fame. :)

Cheers. Although as Big Brother Don is on the train I'd rather hoped 35029 could have been patched up for the run back!

But reckon he will be OK about an 86 on the front.

A badly planned and executed shot near Alrlesey. Basically what I thought was a foot crossing turned into an over bridge.
