It sounds very, very good!! It must be frustrating with things like the line up of the three A4's when the other mags have already published pictures and articles. I look forward to the RM's approach. The articles on 46115 and the open Day at Carnforth will be interesting too after the various "rumours" that have been circulated around here and in the press.

    You're having a laugh, aren't you?

It's tough enough producing 12 issues a year, what with 4 or 5 week months, and schedules being messed with bank holidays. Then there are staff holidays, sickness, training courses.....

At the moment there are no plans to go four-weekly.

To respond to Green Five, the timing of the A4 line-up fell bad for us, and sometimes things fall in our favour, but as we are a journal of record, we should not ignore things like the A4s.

With regard to Carnforth, because it is one of our exclusives - and we West Coast Railway's partner in the event - I cannot reveal any more details until May 7. That way everyone has an equal chance for tickets.

What I can say is that in the next RM is a coupon with which to apply for tickets, and that coupon will give £5 off the admission price on the day. And we are not accepting photocopies of the coupon. Sorry.

The Administrators are allowing me to publish details next week, so that'll be in a separate thread.

    Thanks for the reply Chris.
Glad to hear The Rm is not going four weekly. I have trouble keeping up with my reading with monthly mags! Time seems to fly by.

My routine of calling into my local newsagent to see the latest RM asap has been shattered. They have now become another victim of an independant shop being turned into a supermarket.

Means I have to wait till after work to see it. I shall never forget the day I walked in and saw my pic on the front cover, I'm sure the staff in the newsagent thought I was having a funny turn!

Anyway, can't wait to see the latest edition.

Sorry to hear about the 'progress' in your locality.

It is a problem all magazines under 80k-100k sales per issue are finding, as the supermarkets prefer to sell the populr fast moving titles.

While we apreciate many want to support their local newsagent, sometimes circumstances force you to take a subscription which you may want to consider. Delivered to your door, immunity from price rises/postal charge rises, etc.

Just had a quick flick through the latest issue and it looks as though it is of the usual high standard one has come to expect from RM.
The pics of the 3 x A4s against a line up of 3 x GWR Halls has put a different slant onto the NYMR gala theme.

Front cover is also a bit special; but so is the loco!

    Glad you like the cover.

Carnforth report that people have been camped out on the hillside overlooking the site, and one chap has been flying over in a microlight trying to see the 'Scot'.

It will be great to see it back in steam and on the main line - I remember one of the 1980 runs to York, on a dull November (?) day.

Fantastic front cover - congratulations to all at RM for the exclusive. Wonderful to 'Scots Guardsman' in 1 piece.

Popped into Smiths yesterday for a quick browse, saw a Scot smokebox sticking out from behind the other magazines... 'Ooo' thinks I, and pulls it out, expecting to see something red.

    Very impressed!
