    Our 'replacement' Tickets for Swindon to Hereford were accompanied by a very reassuring and sympathetic letter from Peter Prior, I don't know if it's still about.

    Gosh...no denying it, I'm old! I went to Tyseley to watch her arrive. It was my first ever 'King' sighting. There were a few watery eyes about on that bridge!

    I was a steward that day at Paddington with 5900 Hinderton Hall & Great Western Coaches 5952 & 2202, and we were hoping that we would be asked to stand in for the failed King. Had a great trip from Didcot in the early hours. Steam haulage from Morton cutting to Paddington :):):)
