Don't suppose it will get a spin on the turntable?

I was at Ingrow when it arrived, concerned the way it was facing and suggested it 'must' be facing Haworth. Took a lot of notice of my request, but there again didnt expect it. Is unfortunately now a 'non-event'

The std 5 isnt too heavy for the turntable itself - but it is too heavy for the bridge before.

I know most will moan - but we're sorry, thats the way it was loaded at Butterly and at the end of the day, it will go backwards uphill just as it would forward.
We're always getting asked to turn engines so here;s your chance! - it makes alot of oppertunities for "different" shots.
We marshalled City Of Wells' support vechile as the Kly brake van so should look quite nice

Friday will be almost a non-event for photographing 73129 the "wrong way around", from the timetable it's piloted by tender first loco's for several trains until latter in the afternoon, Friday was the only day I could make it, visit off I'm afraid.

At the risk of restarting the old debate, had KWVR lost any income as a result?

    (Sorry - tin hat on....)

If they had, I might just square the balance on the Saturday if I leave for Tanfield earlier and call in at Keighley on the way . Trip to Ingrow with Bell then 73129 up the bank tender first? I might be tempted :)

I just wonder if there is any contact between railways stating requirements. if the requirement was for a loco to be loaded in a certain way, then why not state thats what is required. All the home fleet face uphill, so why not visitors? Ingrow is not the ideal place to turn a load round. Anyway, will have to try and make the best of a bad job. Apart from station starts the loco will be mostly coasting, and part of some rediculous double header, chimney to chimney etc. Come on Worth Valley, what we need is forward planning

In Many ways it makes a pleasant change to have a face first into keighley... but unless the reasons for everything normally being facing howarth are overcautious, the crews will have to be smart on the injectors. Have always thought that the standard tanks should be given 'a spin' for the galas...

Not sure what the arrangements are at Butterley but sometimes it isn't possible to arrange to load a loco a particular way round due to constraints regarding the loading area. Lowloader trailers can only be loaded at one end and if you have a restricted length of track suitable for loading, or are ramping from a dead end it might be a case of having to live with it.

Couldn't care less which way round it is. It's there. That's the important thing. Just don't break it before I get there!

you should hear it ! They went out on test this afternoon with it! Yep - certianly noisy

As for if we've lost any money - the event hasnt started yet so how could we?
Some of the double headers will be changed so the std is the inside loco.

EVERY other railway manages to run engines the wrong way round - so will everyone be having a moan at them too? - highly doubtfull!
If your not going to come to the event because of this then im sorry - nothing we can do about this, thats how its come, thats how it running and to be honest it makes a change!
When an event sooner or later falls on its face cause on financial costs because of poor patronage or a clash of events such as this weekend - dont moan that you cant come and visit it! Engines are not cheap to get - and as for forward thinking - we've been asking for this engine for years, cant exacly help what happens in the last 48hours! Rant over.
Enjoy the event. Say hello if you see me, guarding all 3 days

Definetly coming tomorrow for some Caprotti 5 thrash. Haven't been up to KWVR for over 2 years, so I'm long overdue a visit.
