I was told the delay to the 11:25 was due to the steam brake having jammed on.
I think the backwards and forwards was due to slipping, but I'm not certain.

The general impression I got from the crews who worked the engine: makes A LOT of noise, but not much low speed grunt. If it was wound back to make it quieter it just went slower. Once going, it wanted to race away.
Perhaps not the ideal engine for the line, 80002 gets out of Keighley considerably better, but an interesting visitor. I have never heard such a noise in Haworth yard, echoing back from the shed as it opened up after bridge 27.

The Railway's Autumn Steam Gala DVD is now available to purchase from our website. It is hoped it will be available from the KWVR Shops within the next couple of weeks.

The DVD lasts approx. 73 Minutes and includes footage from the Preparation day, 73129 on a Test Run, all 3 days of the gala and some bonus footage of 44871 which was expected to appear at the gala at other locations around the UK.

A DVD trailer is now available online.

On the subject of 73129 working Saturday, can anyone confirm what's on the morning diesel diagram please? Presumably the bogcart, but it seemed worth asking!
