that's a Fowler tender right enough. The 4F would be the most likely donor.

Yep. She ran with the 4F's tender for a while in the 90s.

I suspect that after spending such a long time overhauling 34092, that he deserves to turn his attention to the pub for a while. After that he may turn his attention to the pug!! :) :) :) :) :)

  4. Uploaded a few more of the Derby 4F 43924, a real workhorse of the KWVR. Despite the bearing troubles which dogged these engines in LMS and BR days 42924 continues to work hard.

  5. Quite right too.

Too right! Don't know the guy - but everyone who's spoke about him and his team have said that he is a true gentleman.

If I saw him without a pint - I'd buy him one.

  9. That's fantastic news and another big engine added to the working shed. I shall be up there this weekend and get some pictures for the steammemories blog.

  11. On the same shed visit when photographing 75078 alongside was Taffy 85 or Taff Vale 0-6-2 No85. I have put the picture on the blog and a report as to progress and expectation.

Great news. Two SR-based engines back on the KWVR in the space of less than a year. Seems like a visit to Yorkshire would be a good idea before too long!

  13. I am sure you would not be disappointed. There are of course the two wartime engines recently completed at nearly half a million for the two of them and we have the Black Five 45305.

I've been to the line a few times in the past but not since 1997. 34092 and 75078 would be my "dream ticket" if I was planning a visit, but 43924, 90733 and 45305 would all be welcome. I'm afraid that the S160 does nothing for me, but each to their own!

What I like about a short line like the KWVR is that you can have a good day out including a decent ride and a chance to take some pictures too.

Whoa whoa, don't be too hasty, you'll need vetting first before you can get into MY land......................;)

  16. Well I am sure you will get a visa. Wells should be with us for the next season as it has not got main line fittings ie ATP etc. And 90733 will I am sure be storming up and down the line along with 75078. There is now quite a good stable of engines on the K&WVR

Are you taking an early holiday 'cos the sun comes soonest in the north?! Joking aside it'd be nice to see it with 75069 in a few years time perhaps at my fantasy LMS/ Standards Gala! :)

  18. Well it would make the third class 4 in steam. Green Knight has a boiler cert till 2021 so maybe all three together soon. I think 75069 has a lot of boiler work to be done and as we all know that's where serious cost often comes in.
